vantuz
Hello, Sorry for possible stupid question, I'm new here and want to buy my first replica and need the help of someone who knows. I like very much the 3714 model but know already that it has many problems with the movement. However, I don't mind if it will be a quartz version despite that it's written "quartz" on the dial. But do someone know if the quartz movement works really fine with this watch? Is it not as dangerous as 7750? Does the chronograph work fine with it, or should i still wait while the hands go between 10-2 to stop and reset it as on 7750? Do you think Is it worth to try to order this? On my eye it looks good just except the small missing of the "gold" at the crown. The dealers who can offer me one like this with quartz which looks most similar to the gen are also welcome! Thank you in advance for your help!
hooky
There is never a stupid question buddy, for sure not when it is your first post. Welcome to the forum!! Quartz is almost never any problem. And the chrono works. BUT... I can never understand why people want to have a replica which is so far off from the genuine article it terms of looks and also in terms of functioning. With this movement the pushers of the chrono might be in a different position on the case and also the subdial spacings will be different. In my honest opinion, it should replicate to almost being 1:1 and if it doesn't why bother. Then there are countless other nice gen watches available in the same price category as the rep, which will be quality wise a lot better. If you still want IWC, I can recommend the pilot chrono, but also the Portofino Chronograph which is a very good replica. just my 2 cents... maybe for further reading: http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/77690-movement-review-asian-7750-with-running-seconds-at-6/

vantuz
Thank you very much for replies and a useful links! For me is very important when it looks nice and every function works, does not matter if it's quartz or anything but you are right, that it is looks may be not so perfect... To buy a chrono 7750 with the function of chrono which i should wait always until it approaches 12 I think is strange.. Is this right that on Venus175/seagull ST19 there is no problem with it? I heard that it's very reliable. Then i prefer to choose one with this movement. May be you can help from your experience? What do you thing also about gold or white version? I can not decide, I like more gold, but do you think that in reality it will look like a real gold? 1) IWC not existing model but nice: 2)Patek I did not find the gen neither: 3)Audemars Thank you in advance for everybody, and sorry for putting to IWC area another brands pictures... hooky
those reps you are showing in the pictures are all reps that are available for around 3-4 years now. The last 1-2 years the reps have become a lot better in terms of finish and quality and also in accurateness to the genuine article. So I myself would not go there with those older models. I would not recommend gold plating on a rep. Most often the plating is very thin and fades within 0.5-2 years. Also the color will change sometimes over time and also the color is not always the same as on the genuine gold watches. The Patek steel color watches are quite nice though, from the pics above. I cannot comment on being 1:1 to genuine. And it is true, the ST19 movement is a very reliable movement and it winds extremely smooth. Another tip, the brown rep streps on these scream being fake. Better take a black one or a custom made one from guys like for example Orloff straps. Cheers!
