Marcelo Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 (edited) Hello guys! My SMP Chrono ( red seamaster ) desperately needs AR coating. But living in Brazil i can´t find it cheap around here and customs here are very very slow, that means that i will have to wait for the crystal do do the AR about a month and another month for it to come back home. So i measured my PO's 5th(42) crystal and it seems to have the same size as the SMP Chrono's crystal ( about 30mm ). Can anyone confirm that? If so, i would buy the rep crystal from someone who have changed it for the gen crystal. Anyone? Thank you guys! Edited February 19, 2011 by Marcelo
ryaku Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 I was wondering the same since i have a spare SMP crystal i might use on my 5th gen PO. In the past I heard someone made it, but the crystal was from a 4th gen PO.

Marcelo Posted February 19, 2011 Author Report Posted February 19, 2011 I've tried but the don't want to make AR in a watch's crystal, they say it´s too small and it wont work ( tried 10 different optometrist ) Still need an answer for that! And some one who wants to sell a PO 42 crystal with AR. Thanks

ryaku Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Marcelo, I feel you, I have a spare crystal from a SMP chrono and I guess it's the same case and crystal size of yours. I have a caliper and i can check diameter and thickness for you. We just need to know the exact size of the 5th gen PO crystal.

Marcelo Posted February 19, 2011 Author Report Posted February 19, 2011 Ryaku, i don't have a caliper but i used a compasses and measured it in a fine rule. The diameter is 31mm and the thickness i did not measure... But to my eyes the SMP is about 1,5mm thicker than the PO. Hope it helps! Do you know who should i contact to do the AR work on my crystal?
