Mickey Padge
Hey fellow RWG'ers! I have an old school PAM 063C, and the trouble is the Jakob case back will not screw down, it leaves a 1mm gap after a few turns...... Anyone else have an old school GMT PAM (029/063) and been successful with Jakob's sweet custom case backs? Original case back on the left, Jakob's on the right.... Click to expand: I thought at first the case back might be pressing against the movement retainer, but decasing the whole movement disproved that theory. So it screws on a few turns as smooth as butter, then just stops with a gap, easily large enough to place a finger nail..... Any help would be greatly appreciated! tutima
I would not bother... The Honpo CB is better if one can live with the incorrect C serial...
w0lf
There is a batch of Jakob 63C casebacks that had a wide threaded rim and a wider slope. It is based on stock for a thicker 7750 movement & rotor, and as such it may not screw in all the way into a manual case (the rim will hit the movement bridge) or an oldschool auto (the rim will hit the movement ring or run out of threads). Besides it being incorrect for a 289x watch due to appearance of the slope it's also incorrect in design. OEM and Honpo/EL 289x caseback has a movement ring holder. 7750 caseback (PAM88): 289x caseback (PAM63): OEM caseback showing movement ring prop holder:
Mickey Padge
Ah I see, so the case back is not going to fit by design! Thanks very much for the info guys!
