Just got my 005 back from Katt with it's newly installed highbeat Seagull ST-36 . What a nice improvement. Runs great, sounds great and winds smooth as silk. No more ticking like a wall clock :) . He also fixed the wobbly crown guard lever.. As a gen Panerai owner I'm still impressed with the quilaty of this watch.

I had the same plan a while back and I bought 4 of those ages ago..... and never did anything with them.....

I have never actually had a watch with one in them always ended up going Swiss with the better reps...frankens etc

Maybe it time to run one up into a watch... see for myself

Are there any tutorials on swapping the 005 movement? I'm planning to do this myself - got the highbeat Seagull too. Sead on RG just posted that he's had a hell of a time with these movement swaps... has me a bit nervous.

If you keep moving on through this site you will find all the steps you need :)

But I suggest you find something crappy to practice on... and make you have the basic tools

I just swapped the movement on my 219, it was a member purchase and arrived broken (center wheel/cannon pin). It really wasn't that bad but the 219 had the dial feet ground off and no dial dots, can only assume thats what broke the cw. Hands ended up working fine even though I bought a 111 set based on seeds posts. Used dial dots to secure the dial and its working great.
