dangerranger
Got this as a present from a friend who went to Dubai recently. I'm afraid I don't have a macro lense on the camera so difficult to show any close up detail. I think it's a fantasy rep (actually pretty certain) still looks good on the wrist though. Automatic but power reserve is limited, lasts about day and half if it's not on my wrist. No hacking mechanism and the subdial at 6pm doesn't move when you reset the the time backwards (i.e. it won't track the main hands if you going back but will if you adjust time forward). No idea what movement is in the guts of this. Thoughts/comments all welcome!!!
calatrava
I agree, I doubt that Breguet would have an open heart complication when they are famous for their tourbillon complications. The 24 hour hand is a GMT complication, the idea is that you set the 24 hour hand to the time you want to track, and then adjust the 12 hour hand backwards until you have the local time. This allows you to set a differential between the 12 hour and 24 hour hand, thereby allowing you to track two time zones.
picksterRG
I just ordered a No. 3006 from purtime...when I receive it I will post on the forum...based on some research of the Breguet line it is a little closer to the original except for the back of the watch. I did not see anything in No. 3006 with a black face. FYI I am fairly novice at this so please don't take it as a critique...I am learning the ropes and the different watch brands...we will see how good the quality of the watch is when received, I am anxious to comment on. picksterRG
Here is a QC photo...The watch is being shipped now, so I will be able to comment on feel, quality, etc more in depth when I get it. Per the QC test it varies by 1.1 MS and I am curious if that is common, way out of whack...I note that the front is very consistent with the No 3006 with the exception of the roman numberal font size, however per photos I have seen the back is not correct. I would appreciate any comments...
calatrava
That's a nice looking Tourbillon, unlike the initial photo, which is an open heart complication. I believe that the Breguets are individually numbered on the dial, so the number 3006 is part of the serial number.
letibjorn
Very good looking tourbillion indeed. I hope you post a review of this beauty
Janek Sarnowski
the first one has a sea gull st-16 movement - it's actually very good and pretty damn sturdy.
dangerranger
the first one has a sea gull st-16 movement - it's actually very good and pretty damn sturdy. I like the 2nd watch as well- looks like a Breguet. Interesting point about the movement being sea gull st16. Any more info on this? Or why you think this? Cheers. Janek Sarnowski
It certainly looks like an St-16, which is very Miyota-ish. If it winds in both directions and the movement hacks when you pull the crown out, it's an st-16.Otherwise, it's probably some miyota. Here's a pic of the ST-16 in a Sea Gull watch: Edit: although, thinking about it, i don't think i've ever seen an st-16 with a 24 hour complication. It might be something by BWAF (Beijing watch factory).Unless someone modded the st-16 as the case is with e.g.st-25.
