  3. It's my take on the 3646 with a bit of a twist - the markers are black.It looks quite awesome with the sandwich dial ; ) The watch is running a Molly 3602 and features a strap by BlueRadish from HF. Pics are taken with some of it's bigger cousins ; ) What does the community think?
  4. I often find many broken/damaged watches for pennys around car boot sales.It's a shame for them to end up in the bin,so I usually buy them. I've cleaned and oiled some of the movements here - few of them do not work (Rotary has a broken balance spoke, Oris - I didn't have time to look into what's wrong with it and the Cortebert,simply because i've never taken a bumper apart before and this one might be just to fancy for me to start learning on ) .I didn't clean any of the outside plates, since i don't know what to use in order to preserve the rhodium plating on the plates. These watches, even though tired by life can tick again or at least please the eye: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 This one is not saved from scrap, i did however want to take a pic of it,just for fun ; ) Enjoy and let me know what you think ; ) If anyone wants full resolution pics, let me know ; )

  8. It certainly looks like an St-16, which is very Miyota-ish. If it winds in both directions and the movement hacks when you pull the crown out, it's an st-16.Otherwise, it's probably some miyota. Here's a pic of the ST-16 in a Sea Gull watch: Edit: although, thinking about it, i don't think i've ever seen an st-16 with a 24 hour complication. It might be something by BWAF (Beijing watch factory).Unless someone modded the st-16 as the case is with e.g.st-25.

But what's the point of keeping this kind of junk in your house?I'll take it off your hands, i'll even be graceful enough to pay the PP :tu: :tu: Seriously now, i think the vintage Rolex Chronos are the best looking watches ever made and i will stand with this opinion. However, parts like hands or dial can significantly change the price if they're not original. Don't get me wrong, it's still worth a bloody bomb,even if it was "tweaked" in its day Congrats on the great piece again.Personally I would keep it and pass it on to the "offsprings", but it's your call (-;

  13. I do It might not be with the spirit of "perfect reps looking like gens",but i'd like to put all the things i like from subs over the years into one watch.If it doesn't work - it doesn't.However, i do feel that for me it might just cut it (-;
  14. I used cotton buds soaked in acetone and a toothpick to remove smaller prints. The black paint is intact. However, i know that some dials have a thinner coating of paint, and once you put acetone on them, you strip them to bare metal - as the case is with newer MQJ dials. I have another dial exactly like the one in the pictures above and i'd gladly swap it for a rep Sub dial

  16. You got me wrong, man (-; The sterile mod is just for now, since the dial had a different logo on it. What I was planning on doing was getting a 5513 dial and hands, changing the glass to plexi and leaving it at that - no sterilisation (-; Btw. It's running a 21j Dixmont Guangzhou.

It's a temporary build, im trying to find a vintage dial (gen or rep) to go with my student budget :mrgreen: This is what i'll be going for: Picture borrowed of Altec from chinawatches.pl The dial was sterilised with Acetone. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Any advice on where to acquire a rep/gen dial like this? Plus what do you think about the current mod? Lemme know
  18. Why hello there friends, I recently acquired a set of NOS parts for an Omega De Ville Quartz and i'll be trying to get it fully working. That's what i was given: It's pretty much the whole set without the crown,stem,seconds hand and most importantly the movement. Since the item is still in the post, I can't get the ref. number of the case. Since I can fashion out a stem and a crown from within my widespread collection of vintage parts, i'll be having problems finding the movement and the seconds hand. I can assume that the watch used to run on the Omega cal. 1420. Do any of you, experienced Omega chaps know where i can source the movement (or unbranded ecquivalent)/suplement movement and the seconds hand? I would be most grateful for any help : ) Cheers in advance, J.

  21. Unfortunatelly,all of my other cameras are film.I do have a crappy camera in my phone though. This is the cam with a 3x teleconverter on (for smaller macro e.g. watch crown or the seiko caseback) And this is with the telecoverter off,for some really extreme macro. Looks bizarre,doesn't it?
