Ektelon
Hi all, I purchased an Ebel from Josh a while ago. I haven't worn it much but have recently started to put it in the rotation. I have noticed that I am losing about 5-6 minutes a day. Does anyone know if there is an easy fix for the home tinkerer? I just read Rolexman's post on his breakdown and service of the 7750 and am not near that skill level but I can take the back off turn a screw if needed. Any ideas? Thanks, E
freddy333
The only thing you can do is to be sure the watch is fully wound. Manually wind it (slowly) 40 turns, set it down on a table, dial-up, & check it in 32 hours. If it is keeping time, then you just need to either give it a manual boost (wind) before wearing or get a winder to keep the mainspring charged. If it is loosing time, then, like most reps, the movement requires an overhaul.
Ektelon
Thanks freddy333, I just tried this also ( I know, "Search" is my friend) and it seems to be helping. Only losing about 2 minutes a day now. I will open it back up and adjust once more. Thanks for your response, E
