Mosh
Hi I was wondering if any of you franck muller experts here can help me out. Ive decided to mod my first watch or get an expert to mod the watch for me. The only 2 models of franck muller that i like are the: 1. Jumbo Curvex Crazy Hours 2. Long Island Crazy Hours I would require the following mods to be added to the watch: 1. Genuine crazy hours dial 2. Genuine franck muller alligator strap These 2 mods mentioned above seem pretty standard and straight forward, but the main problem is finding the correct versions of the two rep crazy hours watches without any flaws to put the mods in. This is what ive found during my research: 1. Majority of the reps have incorrect casebacks with spelling mistakes. Can someone please point me in the right direction where i can acquire the watches with the correct casebacks. The few long island versions ive seen, have 1800ch at the back. Shouldnt it actually be 1200ch? 2. The crazy hours in curvex comes only in two sizes, standand & jumbo. So will the gen jumbo crazy hours dial fit the jumbo crazy hour rep case? is it a straight or is modding required? 3. The long lsland crazy hours comes only in one size? is this correct? Will the gen dial fit straight into it? 4. Ive heard a number of problems with the rep crazy hours watch. The rotor seems to get stuck and does not wind the watch. The cheap crazy hours watch only comes in 21j, but the more expensive crazy hours watch with the black diamonds comes with the 2813 (22j) movement. I heard that it is pretty reliable. Can the dealers supply the modded crazy hour version of this movement on its own? You can buy the standard version of this movement for about £17, but it will need to be modded to have the crazy hours function. I dont know how easy that would be. Is the movement actually modded or does it have a complication module added to it. 5. All the cheap crazy hours watches ive seen, all come with mineral glass. Are their any version avaliable with sapphire crystal? if not, how easy is it to source the crystal? 6. I cant seem to find the lug size for both the jumbo crazy hours curvex and long island crazy hours watch. Can someone please let me know. Would be much appreciated. Any comments and views will help alot. Thanks

I know several people here have gen dials in their FM reps but I have not personally done this yet. The fm crazy reps use the rock-solid a21j movement with a jumping modification. Don't worry about the stability of the base movement. To avoid incorrect case backs, always ask for photo approval before shipment and TELL your dealer what a correct case back SAYS so they can have a good chance of finding one.
