Navitimer World

Cozmo

Recommended Posts

Today I received an order from vendor, that included a navitimer world, black face. Been wearing it for a few hours and noticed something off.

after observing and testing with it, it seems the GMT hand, "loses" about 15-20 min per hour? If I set it an hour ahead, within 2 hours it will be only 1/2 hour ahead....

I tried winding the "regular" time ahead, to see what happened, and about every 3-4 hours I lose one full hour on the GMT hand, it simply doesn't keep up. The watch itself seems to keep great time, the date rolls over accurately, Chrono's work, and reset accurately.

So...problem with the GMT hand/mechanism? problem with the whole movement? Could it just be a gunked up a7750, and a service will resolve? Is it supposed to function like that and I'm totally off on what the GMT function is for?

I reached out to vendor, but figured I'd ask for some additional input.

thanks :)

No offense, but do you understand how the GMT hand is supposed to work?

Sometimes they slip, but not usually on 7750s.

I believe I do, and I 'think" that if I set both the regular and 24h hands at exactly the 12 position, then wind the time forward 4 hours, the "regular hands" will indicate normal 4 o'clock, and the 24h hand will indicate to the smaller 4 (at approx the 2:00 position)??

Yes, that's correct. (although it's not "approx" the 2:00 position, it's exactly the 2:00 position)

If it's not doing that, then it's not working properly.

Like I said, I'm surprised--GMT-modded 7750s rarely have problems with slipping, it's usually that the independent adjust doesn't work.
