Golfman Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Could someone tell me whitch model is this PAM (or just the dial, cause i think it does not exist in PVD) ? The first owner could be an RWG member
Everythingape Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 IS that PVD? Looks like it's blued or something to me.. I think it's a 000 Logo like Andrew sells.
Golfman Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 Thanks Everythingape !! You're right, i have just had a eye on Andrew site and it's one of his 000. The only one pb is the LswissL under the 6. Yes it's a PVD (one ex PAM !!)
Everythingape Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 No problem.. Is it a do-it-yourself PVD job? It's not smooth like you normally see, 'specially on the lug-case transition.. Might just be wear though.. That being said, I don't have the first clue about PVD-anything at all.
Golfman Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 Perhaps you better know this watch than me In fact, the pic is the only thing i have yet : it's on the way (Belial RWI last WE auction) I know that he had bought it from a RWG member : it's you ?
Finepics Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 The dial is from a PAM 5218/201A Pre-A panerai from 1993. These were only in a polished SS case so this is a fantasy model.

Unfortunately i think the dial is not a 5218/201A Pre-A panerai from 1993 : cause of the "L swiss L" under the 6. All pics i've seen on 5218/201A haven't anything under the 6. And you're right these were only in a polished SS case. So an unique watch for my eyes only

So an unique watch for my eyes only Mark (Finepics) is correct that this is a rep of the 5218/201A dial insofar as the LUMINOR PANERAI are together below the 12 and only the logo is on the bottom half of the dial. However, Golfman is also correct in that the 5218/201A did not have L SWISS L, or anything else at the base of the dial - simple explanation is that these watches were made in Italy, not Switzerland. The numbers are the more recent shape (see ‘2’) rather than the pre-Vendome. This rep was marketed as a 000 a couple of years ago but the dial has the wrong layout and neither the 5218/201A nor 000 were available in PVD. The dial is a fantasy and anything remotely resembling this should be in a SS case not black.
