the_rymeister Posted September 27, 2011 Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 Hi guys i've been searching the forum and the internet constantly for the last week trying to decide what reps to buy.this is so hard when there are soooooooo many to choose from! after hours of scratching my head i'm going to go for the 42mm planet ocean as i was previously going to go for 45mm but after reading several posts about them being very large i didn't want to buy one and be disappointed with the size of it.(being to big) now i've got that sorted i'm also thinking of buying a seamaster chrono 300m rep with the red chrono hands and red seamaster lettering and was wondering if anyone had one or has seen one to say what the quality is like. I can see a few little imperfections such as chrono hands look too short. does the gen version of the chrono have the "HE" marking on the escape valve like the planet oceans or is the rep iv'e seen correct with having the omega logo on the valve? or am i missing something here? i"ve read some good and very in depth reviews on the forums about the chronos but all seem to be on the older generation of the chrono which by all accounts is a much better rep and are few and far between these days. so if anyone has any advise they could share with me whether it is a worthy investment or just to hold off for a better rep in the future. cheers all! ZedWings Posted September 27, 2011 Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 Hi, I have a SMP 300m Chrono ordered. It's currently en route from Joshua. I'll post pics and my thoughts when it arrives. You're right about the hands, they are a touch too short. Also the pearl is too low and a bit oversized. On the plus side, the Omega logo is perfect.
