gimme
I took my Slevin and my 3717 to a local watchsmith to perform some mods. He supposedly knows a lot about metals, etc. He told me my 3717 & Slevin cases were not made from real SS. I think he said they were made of base metal or something, and then they added a layer of SS. I could ask him again. Nevertheless, he said that my 3717 bracelet was made from SS. Any thoughts? Logan
I have a stripped down 3717 case here and there is nothing that suggests to me thats it's not solid stainless. There are certainly some low grade reps that are still plated but it's less and less common.
Jkay
Only the cheapest of reps are plated brass. That's bottom of the barrel stuff, and your watchmakers opinion is a common one among the seething masses.
