pjl
I am about to make an investment for the Royal Oak Working Chrono - Automatic/Asian Movement. It is listed at over $500.00 and I was wondering if anyone has purchased one before and if they think it it worth that kind of $$$. Let me know Edited May 27, 2012 by pjl
Watchmeister
As far as I know all the better ones are the wrong size (42 vs 40mm) so they have always been a non-starter for most. If there is a new version out someone else please chime in. I have always been hopeful that the Noob factory would put one out but not yet. pjl
Thanks for the response! I see your point! Other than the MM size, which I think I can live with at 42MM, do you think the watch is A+ ?
prb
I think you should do a little more reading before you plop down $500. The fact that you've described the watch as "A+" means you probably still have much to learn, and could easily get scammed.
pjl
Well, can you offer some assistance to help me.
pjl
And I asked if the watch was A+, I didn't describe it that way!
calatrava
Well, I guess the obvious question is what does A+ mean to you in terms of replica watches? As already mentioned, the watch is the incorrect size, which most people would consider to be a poor replica by definition, since it will come across as an obvious fake to people familiar with the brand. Wouldn't you be better off with a regular AP Royal Oak Jumbo, which at least is the correct size, and with the exception of the movement displayed in the display caseback, is a much more credible replica? Watchmeister
If they can't even get the basic dimensions right suffice it to say it is not a top notch rep and I would never pay more than $150. If you are determined to get a top notch AP rep go with the RO Offshore Chrono or better the V3 Diver. It is fine if you don't care about accuracy but then don't spend a lot of money. Or to put it more simply, I own gen, franken and rep AP's and the last rep I would buy is the Royal Oak chrono. I would look on your wrist and know instantly that it is a fake. rogerthat
What dealer sells the royal oak chrono for $500 plus? Op may be talking about seconds at 12 offshore chronos or may be using a non trusted dealer that is a ripoff Either way op needs to provide more info if he wants helpful answers
pjl
Yes it is the seconds at 12 offshore chronos - sorry
prb
There are many different @12 ROO's, some more accurate than others, some which you really need to get an aftermarket strap for, and all of which need to factor in a movement service. I would recommend reading through some of the AP section posts, searchign the specific models that you like most.
rogerthat
They have been out for years so I would venture to say thousands of us have purchased them I have owned 5 different models personally They are pricey but if the watch appeals to you, I would say they are well made and worth the price
