Recommend a watch for cycling, jogging, etc.

DISCLAIMER: I realize a $20 casio is perfect. I don't want one.

So that said, I'm thinking Bell & Ross Aviation (gen or rep).

I used my 03-92SS Rep and the second hand popped off 360 miles into a week long bike ride (plus it wasn't 100% waterproof which was another issue). I'm inclined to get a gen 03-92 but thinking automatic may not be the way to go considering how much jarring and jostling it'd be subject to. I also do some trail running and other outdoor adventure sports. If I got the rep, I'd probably want to make sure it was water proofed.

Open to suggestion as long as long as it doesn't cost <$2500 in gen form (No Hamilton, Sinn, etc.) and can take some abuse.

Get one of the sinn u2 or u1 reps, great looking watch and comfortable.

Honestly though, just imo but when exercising, a watch is the last thing I really want on, they become a pita fairly quickly....unless it serves some purpose related to the task at hand, a polar hrm or something like that is perfect in that regard or if outdoor/adventure then you could also consider a tissot t-touch or timex ironman for a bit extra durability.

The guy in my local rep shop (I'm lucky enough to live in Asia, where there are such things), always makes a point of warning people not to wear his watches for sports. He says that the build quality isn't good enough to survive that sort of stress. I guess that some of the really high end modern reps with gen construction and swiss movements would probably be OK - but do you want to risk a $600 watch? You are probably best off with a cheap quartz rep - that is probably more likely to survive than an automatic, and if it doesn't then at least it wouldn't cost you too much. You could possibly go for one of the models where the gen is quartz - an Omega Seamaster springs to mind as a sports watch in which the gen is available as either an automatic or a quartz model.
