khoma
Considering buying my first Breitling, but having some concerns regarding which model... The number one priority for me as a buyer is the quality ie how accurate the replica is...Sometimes it doesn't matter if it says 1:1. So my question to all you wise RWC members out there, which one of t he following 3 models would you recommend? I will link from Andrews site if it's ok. http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_137&products_id=9124&zenid=e7b68daa498474e2bd2e0a8857b061d1 Would love to hear some recommendation about this model...How accurate it is, and if there is any SA which doesn't have DLC, which has the same nice quality. Second out is the SF : http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_144&products_id=9241&zenid=e7b68daa498474e2bd2e0a8857b061d1 Same here pros and cons? And last out is the Superocean http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_144&products_id=7629&zenid=e7b68daa498474e2bd2e0a8857b061d1 which I consider is a bit too small.... I might also be interested in a regular Chrono Avenger / Sea wolf...But the biggest concern is about how accurate the replication is, since I'm not intending to mod it from start...So help me out guys, if you would chose, which one of the ones above would you pick and why? Thanks in advance! /Yours sincerely Rasmus
andreww
All three are great reps. If you like the Super Avenger I'd stay away from the DLC version and get it in Stainless Steel. DLC watches will scratch and wear over time and there is nothing you can do to refinish the, where the stainless steel model can always be re-polished. Plenty of SS modeles on Andrew's site... http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_137&products_id=5743
khoma
Thanks for the answer..I was afraid of what you said, the quality of DLC on replicas..But you would call the regular ones pretty nice out of the box? //Rasmus
allonblack
The SS Super Avengers are pretty good in terms of accuracy, with two exceptions: The date window is beveled on the rep, it is not on the genThe 1 on the 15 on the bezel is not the correct font (though truthfully not far off) I'm personally a huge fan of the Super Avenger, I have two . One of which has a gen dial, gen hands, and gen spring bars for improved accuracy. Unfortunately replacing the bezel is a bit more of a chore both in sourcing a legit gen bezel, as well as getting it put into the V3 case. The one thing I would caution you on is that the SA is a very large watch and not everyone can pull it off. I have a large wrist so it works well on me - From what I've read recently, the Super Ocean, and Super Ocean Heritage are well regarded as a great rep and is available in a larger size as well - http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_144&products_id=3228
khoma
Thanks Allonblack! I was looking at http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_137&products_id=7081 are there maybe any better /newer versions? //Rasmus
allonblack
Uncertain which version that is. I would assume at this point that it's the V3 since that's really all that's available anymore as I understand it.
