Short Cut = Long Cut

The lens popped off my brand new AP World Time (photo attached) rep and the second hand bent and the dual time minute hand is off. Basically wore it for about 4 hours. I thought I would save time by just getting it repaired in the US thinking it would be minor cost. My watchmaker said I needed gaskets (probably not the right word for this part). So again I thought it would be quicker just to get the parts and get it repaired locally. I was encourage by recieving parts quickly. Two different watchmakers later still cant get it repaired. Not sure if I should just send it back to TD who will then get it repaired at the factory. It appears to be a relatively easy repair so I dont want to make any more bad decisions.

Any ideas?
