Best version and movement for GMT II?

I'm looking to buy my first Rolex, and the GMTIIC seems the perfect choice for me.

The problem is that I've seen and read too much about the reps, so I'm confused.

Apparently, the V version is the best one, but it seems that a certain movement is problematic.

I've searched Andrew's site, and found this one:

Is this the best version currently available? Is the movement reliable? Is the exact watch available with different/cheaper movements?

That's a fairly new Asian movement. I doubt there's much info about the reliability on that one.

Since the movement isn't seen, I'd ask for the same watch with the much cheaper Asian GMT movement the DG 3804 which is a true GMT movement.
