kyungmi1004
hi everyone, This is my first project.. I am building a Submariner 1680. I found a rolex 1680 dial and 1570 movement for it from ebay and I'm having difficulty finding a case and hands. Any suggestions? I'd also welcome any suggestions for building this. Or any good reference websites for learning. Since this is my first project, I understand it won't be perfection... Any pointers will be greatly appreciated~!! mjmj
Welcome to RWG. Its a great place to be. There is a member here who is developing some very good gen like cases. He is at prototype stage at the moment and hopefully will be able to roll out production very soon.

panerai153
I would wait for the cases mentioned above. The other alternative would be a JewelryandWatch (phong) or Ming Quy (Vietnam) yuki or NDT. i have no experience with these cases. but lots of others here have. The MBW case is nice and much cheaper, but it will not take a genuine dial (Dial diameter is too small for the case) thus no point in using a genuine movement, etc.Tritium genuine handsare available occasionally on the Vintage Rolex forum Sales Corner, Ebay, etc. They will be pricy though. The biggest problem with building a franken 1680, you could very easily have almost as much in the franken as you would going out and buying a genuine in r4easonable condition. Before I spent 4k building one, I would try to find a gen for a little more.
