sRD_STi Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 Wondering if the Noob factory fixed the issue with the QR on the newer PAMs (e.g. 243m, 299k). OR does anyone have issues with their PAM243? Thanks in advance.
PeteM Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 Its a hit and miss affair mate.... it really comes down to the QC rather than the QR itself... Personally if I know I am going to use several straps on a QR case on a regular basis then I use good quality QR strap bars.. that way I am not worried about overusing those crappy springs in the QR !!
andcaneron Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 Will regular QR strap bars work in a 243 so I avoid using the special QR button in the case itself?
rogerthat Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 Funny as convenient as it is to change the straps I find myself afraid to change straps on my 243 in fear the qr will break I change on my unscrew type lugs much more often despite that taking longer and not being as easy It is nice that the 243 from noob at least comes with the qc tool I don't think it is possible to bypass the qr system and use screws Think you could use special spring bars though as an alternative , they sell those on panatime I think
andcaneron Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 i did not mean screws. I meant spring bars.
Watchmeister Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 The QR on the gen stinks as well. One of the dumbest ideas Panerai came up. One of the folks in my local boutique was telling me that is the number one reason why PAM's come in there for repair. 1
sRD_STi Posted September 7, 2012 Author Report Posted September 7, 2012 Can someone explain how the QR is designed? I'm curious to know if the QR button can pop out even when a strap is mounted. Thanks.

andcaneron Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 I just recently got a 243 and I really like to change straps. I hope I will not have problems.
