SS simulated to look like WG?

i got a watch that is SS "simulated to look like WG". how is the quality of this process? does the simulation "fade"? what about weight? any insight would be appreciated. thank u!

i think it is just a rhodium plating on the stainless steel to give it the shiny white gold look.

Most WG look SS reps are just SS....

I have a Rhodium but dont wear it more then 4 times a month so I dont know how it really holds up yet.

i got it from a super reputable dealer. i should ask exactly what was done. it is a polex presidential which supposedly takes a week to build. i wonder how it hols up compared to conventional plating...

if it is rhodium plated... it will wear off in time... but you can get it replated... i think even in real white gold... the rhodium also needs replating after time...

Just to confirm, genuine white gold needs replating with rhodium as well.

Can't really tell the difference between polished/shiny SS and WG.

Same with platinum, but platinum is noticeable by it's weight and metallic properties. It won't deform like gold.

If I were a rep manufacturer I would prefer to use genuine gold rather than rhodium, being the cost of rhodium about three times that of gold...

Not rhodium plated.....it costs more to plate with rhodium than use solid gold....!

All they've done is use a higher nickel content steel.....same as Rolex does....!

which supposedly takes a week to build.

Oh yeah and it takes Rolex a year to build one.......!

It never ceases to amaze me......the naiveté of buyers....
