herrellj
I could use some help if anyone has time. I have a Rolex...I think. I acquired it about 7 years ago and have never really been able to verify which model it is exactly and I have tried acquiring another link for the bracelet. The face says Rolex Oyster Perpetual Precision and that's it. The model number appears to be 5500 when I remove the bracelet and the serial number is 8688xx. I have been told that this is a 1952 Air King. However, my face does not say Air King like the other ones that I have seen. Does anyone know if this in fact is an Air King? Also, the bracelet says 78350 19mm. I have read that this is a bracelet for watches made after 1975, so it must not be the original bracelet correct? If not, does anyone know the number for the correct bracelet? If it is the correct one, I would appreciate info leading to where I can find a replacement link that is correct for the bracelet. All help and any info on this watch is greatly appreciated. I attached an image that may or may not help. Thanks a bunch, Jeff.
freddy333
You really need a better pic for any type of detailed identification. If the case is engraved with 5500, the dial says only Precision (& no 'SWISS' below 6) & the watch is fitted with a 78350 bracelet (manufactured between 1975 & the mid-2000s), then you have a hodge-podge of parts. It might be a good idea to take it to a watchmaker to see what type of movement is inside.
herrellj
freddy333, thanks for the reply. I will try to find a local watch person who may know something about it. I like it just fine, and am not getting worried about what it actually is too much. I would like to actually find a link that fits it correctly though. Thanks!
