jbetts1790 Posted March 5, 2013 Report Share Posted March 5, 2013 Good eye! Actually the dial is painted to look like paint has worn from age, but you are right that the hands are too low. The canon pinion is pretty short on this Molnija, and just recently the hour hand started rubbing against the dial, and now the hour hand is off from the minute. I plan to fix this soon! Great pic, but it looks like your hands (especially the hour hand) are rubbing against the dial because they are installed too low on the pinion. Eventually, if you do not have them reset higher, they will remove all the paint. There is little you can do about the paint that has already been rubbed off, but at least you can stop additional loss. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
