Stem length adjustment?

Recommended Posts

I have a franken 1655 that I replaced the tube/crown on last night. (Gen 1570 movement, Phong case)

After putting everything back together, I am unable to get the stem back in to a position that I can wind the watch, and that it will run. (Like it's stuck on "2nd click.) If I have the movement out of the case, all is fine.

The crown/tube appear to be the same size, but it's almost like the stem isn't long enough now? I don't want to crank the tube in too much further, and I'm not sure that it'd make much of a difference.

My question is: Could my stem be too short, or is my tube not in far enough? I can't see any threads on it, but I'm sure if I needed to, I could get it in another .3mm or so.
