Zenith Daytona Request

Hi all,

 

I'm new to this forum and I had a few questions regarding the illusive daytonas.

 

1 - What is a super franken daytona and Can i get one?  I'll pay.

 

2 - Is there anyone out there that is willing to make me or know a place that sells a zenith daytona? (seconds @9)  i'm looking for a white face with silver/white subdials like the 116520 on the perfect clones website.

 

Any help would be much appreciated.  I recently purchased a daytona from the perfect clones website and I was disappointed with my purchase - not knowing the seconds @6 are stuttering due to the additional gears and the subdial @ 3 is slowly making it's way offset to the left which is also very disappointing.

Welcome to rwg. I am likewise unclear as to what a 'super franken Daytona' is? A franken (short for frankenstein watch) is a watch that was assembled out of parts from other watches or sources. In other words, it did not leave the factory as it is currently assembled.

You can post a Wanted to Buy (WTB) request in the Watch sales forum, or, if you have deep pockets, you can purchase an assembled franken from here or here (I would strongly recommend that you read other members' experiences with these pre-assembled frankens before taking the plunge).

As to the watch you currently own, I would search out Ziggy's reviews of the seconds @ 6 7750, which details the inherent problems with these movements. You might also search out 'powdered graphite' for a remedy to the movement's biggest problem.
