river fiddy reshape

mellons

Recommended Posts

this is one done a while back as a trial

stock river fiddy with 3mm solid caseback (again stock river) reshaped

quite a bit of material removed on this from between lugs and on sides, as well as a lot off top

stock midcase is very nice: only one to have gen thickness solid casebacl at 3mm afaik. Midcase is too tall at 7.55mm so this one was subsequently thinned down (from top) by around 0.25- 0.3mm. Bezel needed to be thinned also.

The lug curvatuure really is the main difference between this and the stock old jackson case set (my favourite donor)- it really is something. If river made the lugs 0.4mm taller it would be really something.

this one was all stock river- dial/hands/crown guard and crown etc.

broken up and currently in the master necky's workshop getting ann athaya vintage crown guard and vintage crown and tube installed- with a solid plexi it should make a nice daily beater when i get it back

as an out-of-the-box ready-to-wear the river set-up is very nice and can shape up nicely without any further spend. I believe the rxw rep case is very similar (lugs etc).

anyway here are some images:
