umairarif
Hi I would like RWG community to help me give few ideas to help buy a nice dress watch. I would prefer full ss or metal watch with swiss movement and no chrono. please take a minute to give your input. regards
mstan83
By tradition a dress watch usually comes on a leather strap rather than a bracelet (if that's what you meant by full ss?) and should be relatively slim so it can fit under a double cuff shirt sleeve. I would make sure it had a clean classic look, I would stick to something with a real simple dial. Maybe a Patek, Jaeger or even an IWC. If you want a metal bracelet maybe a breitling transocean or iwc portofino on a mesh perhaps?
umairarif
yes i meant metal bracelet like I have been looking at franck muller king and cartier tank in steel bracelets. I prefer metal bracelet but if some thing outstanding I would go for leather strap. I will have a look at the ones you have mentioned
GWP123
I agree with mstan83. Dress watches traditionally have leather straps. I have an unhealthy obsession with rolex submariners but for the most part I wear a leather strap watch. I usually alternate between Tissot and Baume and Mercier. I work in the investment world so if I wore a fake patek I would probably get called out in a second. Sometimes I wear my Panerai on Leather strap. That said, the cartier tank is pretty nice and I see a lot of guys wearing them with suits, so i think thats a pretty great choice.

mstan83
I'm not a Muller fan but the Cartier Tank is nice, also a better size than the Santos 100 which I find a tad too large. If you like the metal straps then maybe even look at a Rolex Datejust. Let us know what you find!
