hackR
I am building this fun "franken lite"...gen dial from Harry, rest is misc Colt and other rep parts...i decided to sand the hands down to the brass metal - and i think it adds a little different look...got some more workadjustment to do on it - but it's getting there... my question is: what to do with how the crystal gasket looks?...as you can see, the gasket is almost the same height as the dial rehaut ring...and in order to make the movement stem line up, I can't close the gap...thinking that perhaps i should remove the clear/white crystal gasket ring and color it with a black sharpie...although, i think i'll try to find a permanent ink type marker that is matte and not as glossy as a sharpie... what do you think?...anyone every "color" a crystal gasket?...saw a post online of a guy who modded a seiko and used a black sharpie...just thinking it looked a little too glossy...as you can see, my gen dial is a matte black... thanks for any advice/comments/harassment...
