Asian 7750 - cannot realign stem in movement HELP!

Hi all,

 

Removed the movement from my secs @9 11650 Daytona Rep to center a chrono hand, which I did without any problem.

 

However, now I cannot re-insert the winding stem. I suspect that the keyless mechanism may have gone out of alignment. Please can someone help me with a walk through - I am hoping that I will not have to remove the dial and hands to get down to the base plate... eek!

I just went through that same problem with an A7750 yesterday. It was a b*tch to get back in. I was pretty sure the keyless wasn't screwed up since it would go in a pretty good way and would catch on the winding gear so it would wind the movement, but not go all the way in. I fought with it for 20 minutes and tried pushing the release pin down while inserting it. I don't know what the problem was but it finally snapped into place. I normally tell people not to use too much pressure re-inserting the stem, but this one took a little more pressure than I'm used to and made me very uncomfortable.

 

I should also mention that I hate fooling with A7750 movements. Good luck, and don't give up without a fight.

Same happened to me with my hbb v6. Just get the stem 100% straught in and press stem release buttom down (only slightly) and wiggle it in. Definitely not as smooth as an eta

No luck - had to remove dial and reassemble keyless works. Took the opportunity to completely take apart and clean / oil the movement, but not without cost.
