ST19 venus 175 wont reset

the st19 in my omega speedy was fine until this afternoon when it wouldnt reset to 0, the seconds counter will only reset to 1 oclock and the minute totalizer will either reset fine or only reset to showing a minute has elapsed even if a minute has not passed when i go to reset it.

 

i ran the stop watch for 30minutes being totalized and the whole watch froze up, that includes the running seconds at 9 oclock. it unfroze when i reset the timer (even though it wasnt moving)

 

has this happened to anyone here? does any have any experience with this, or is familiar enough with the seagul chrono movement to visualize what could be going wrong?
