philbone
Hi All, I have the aforementioned watch, that had been running fine for about 6 months but now keeps on stopping. When it stops, the second hand (at the 9 o'clock position) is always showing "10 seconds past" I have checked and the hand is not sticking or making contact with the dial or anything on the dial face. A quick tap starts it working again but before too long it stops. I do not ever use the chronograph features ;-) What I have checked... Reversing wheel and click Main click Oscillating pinion Clutch Balance and escapement Any ides would be most welcome and appreciated! Thank you Phil Edited June 25, 2014 by philbone
SSTEEL
Time to get the movement serviced? It could be any number of things from, dried oil in a jewel, to a damaged/broken pivot.
philbone
Indeed, servicing the watch is what I wish to do. I recently rebuilt the watch and feel confident that there are no broken parts, and the watch was also lubricated at that time. Strange that the watch always stops with the second hand at exactly the same point, yet there is no contact between the second hand an any part of the dial or other hands.
