theblueprince
Hey guys, I'm curious as to the progression of bezels on 6263 PN's. What years/serials did they move from Mk1, to Mk2, to Mk3 bezels? Also, what about the sub-dial hands.....did they start with the thin hands and then switch to the fatter one's or vice versa......or was it random fitment? Thanks! lhooq
Regarding the subdial hands, the thickness was constant throughout the production of the 6263. I've only seen thinner hands (needle for the running seconds, dagger-shaped on the minute and hour registers) on the earliest 6239s, 6240s, and 6241s. From what I can tell, the switch to the fatter "torpedo" hands occurred while the 6239 was still fitted with the 300 UPH bezel.
theblueprince
Interesting, thanks, i'll stick with the fat torpedo hands then. Just need to know how quickly they progressed from Mk1 -> 2 -> 3 bezels really now!

There's nothing specific in either "Daytona: A Legend Is Born" or in the Patrizzi Pocket Expert. Maybe in one of those huge and hugely expensive Daytona books? theblueprince
Yes the big books always look great until you see the price! I guess a Mk1 or Mk2 would suit a 6263 PN as they're similar but unless you could confirm that they also had Mk3 from new the Mk3 would stand out as not period correct.
