The WU rep could not give me a definitive reason, but the way in which she worded it made it sound like the problem was a combination of two things (and she did specifically say that *WU* could not authorize the transaction). 1. I had never used the card for a WU transaction before, and 2. I was sending money to China. I think it's more the latter than the former as the first on its own would be a real catch 22. I went the WU route with toro. Everything went smoothly and I received my watch about a week later. Watch is beautiful, no problems at all. So thanks to toro and everyone else here.
