Scouser2020
Gents, I have a dilemma, tore down my fc diver to clear some dust from the crystal. Once the movement was out I noticed the seconds hand was slightly bent to the left so thought I'll pop it off and straighten it out. Needless to say its bloody snapped I should have left it alone as it was barely noticeable but typical me, once noticed I'd always focus on it so had to mess it up didn't i. Hopefully one of you guys can help me? Does anyone have a spare or swapped out fc diver handset?? Really hoping someone can help as my beautiful watch looks rough as hell now Thank you in advance
GenTLe
Try asking the dealer you got the watch from (hoping is a willing one!)
Scouser2020
No luck at all with the dealer, Josh will not supply parts whatsoever. Can anyone help me at all? Are there any dealers who can source parts?
GenTLe
There are 2 things to check: 1st that the 4th wheel pinion is ok and not snapped 2nd if the gen second hand has a similar size. If the hand is fine had the snapped part is the 4th gear pinion, then you may make it to be serviced having the gear (if ETA or clone) or the whole movement (if it's a cheap one) replaced and MAYBE the horologist can reuse the hand. If the snapped part is the hand you may buy a gen one (ofrei or cousinsuk) and, if the size of it's tube is similar, have it adapted to your movement. Or even combine the 2 things... Scouser2020
Thanks for the reply GenTLe, I have spoke to another TD (Angus) who can supply the handset with a watch purchase. So hopefully once received I'll take it to watch smith to be fitted/repaired and also enjoy a new watch
