HauteHippie
Stiff maybe? They'll soften up over time.
sssurfer
Best oil for the need is macadamia oil, but any oil will actually work, provided it is colorless (not to make stitching yellowish) and odourless or having just a light, pleasant smell (not to make your strap smell of line oil for months). I used a body oil that I got from a local herbalist shop, made from macadamia, almonds and jojoba, and it worked great. Just be warned that any oil will make your strap a little darker. Highflyingclive
Go to Tesco and buy a pot of Lord Sheraton Leather Balsam. It costs about £1.25, I think. I use it on all my straps. It will darken a dry strap and but will only have a very slight effect on the stitching. Here is a before and after shot of a Davidsen strap that was received in very dry condition: Treating your strap will preserve it, offer a degree of protection from water splashes and make it soft and supple. Clive told me about the Lord Sheratons balsam cream and that;s what I am using the last 2 years or collecting straps.. My oldest strap is better than ever
