Kime
Hi all, not being too up on the latest rep releases can some experts help me out? Can someone tell me if this is the latest noob (v4?) release of GMT II. http://www.puretime-asia.com/product/gmt-master-ii-116710-ln-black-ceramic-11-noob-best-edition-a3186/

CptTripps
That IS the latest version, but the hand-stack is different from Gen. IIRC, the GMT hand is either in-between the min and hr hands, or it's on top of the stack. I DO remember that it's not on the bottom like that rep. AND...the rep movements that have the hand stack correct are crap.
Kime
Ah this is great info thanks. I have seen "correct stack" mentioned on some listings... Are you saying these are not worth touching?
CptTripps
I believe the general consensus is to avoid the "correct stack" movements.
Kime
I believe the general consensus is to avoid the "correct stack" movements. Ok, thanks for sharing your knowledge, seems like there is a decision to make. I would guess there are all sorts of case mods to replace with a gen movement (if one can be found). CptTripps
You can always mod a case, but finding that movement, a set of gen hands, and the right dial could set you back several thousand...at which point you need to think about if it's worth it for a rep. That's why a lot of us build frankens of the older "vintage" watches. Parts are plentiful, and you can build a 99% gen for 1/4-1/3 what you'd spend on a gen. Lumpy1186
You may also want to consider buying without the clone 3186 movement, you only see it when the back is off and it makes no difference to the function of the movement, and you will save around $90.
