I purchased ROLDYT0061A from Trusty Time on 10/16 (I'm unable to include a link as this is my first post). It arrived yesterday (exactly two weeks later). All looked good. I've never purchased a replica before and also have no experience with an automatic movement so this is where I'm looking for help... I followed the instructions to wind the watch (unscrewing the crown counter clockwise, then turning the crown clockwise for several turns, then screwing the crown back in), but it didn't work. When turning the crown to wind it, I can sense a decent amount of resistance, is this normal? I played around with it some more and found if I push the crown in (albeit not all the way) while I try winding it, there's more of a clicking sensation which is more of what I'd expect when winding a watch. However the feel of pushing it and winding it at the same time is not that pleasant, and my thumb is quite sore for having to do it several times today. So anyhow, eventually the watch started ticking. I tried to give it some motion on my wrist to get it's energy up, however soon after it stopped going. So I started the process again and the same thing happened. Then it continued all day today. I kept track and every time I manually wind it, it keeps the time for approximately 30-60 minutes until it stops. I then I have to manually wind it again and it stops again. I've been wearing it all day so it's been getting movement. Is there something I'm missing or not doing correctly, or does it sound like I received a defective watch? Winding will grind the transfer wheels on this over time and leave fine metal dust all over the movement. But than it´s the secs at six Daytona, a well-known problematic watch, it´s because of the risks that I don´t have one. Lots of threads about it. When sending back with TT count on a runaround of 2-3 months and if it´s just repaired instead of exchanged it may have problems again as well-looking as it is. Sorry to say but best will be to start ordering another non-chrono watch with undecorated Asian ETA, while trying to sort it out and get this one exchanged, otherwise You won´t stop thinking about it. vecspeed12 Posted November 3, 2014 Report Share Posted November 3, 2014 last week i had the same clicking results. i bought a GMT and now i'm a bit stressed because i don't know how to fix or repair watches. i don't want to send mine back either because it seems more of a hassle. now i'm just stuck with it. now it just sits here with no wear time. GenTLe Posted November 3, 2014 Report Share Posted November 3, 2014 Vac is yours a BP factory one? They generally are ok after a service. BP ones that I've seen were generally all dry and a bit dirty and the keyless mechanics (keyless are those tiny bits that are connected to stem and winding/date or time settings) suffer a lot because of that. You get brand new replacement movements for $120 if it´s the ETA and cheaper if the 21j, than it will run for the next 5-6 years and much longer. Interestingly enough after the past few days of observation, the watch works 100% fine if I don't wear it. If I keep in on my nightstand overnight, I'll wake up and it's kept time. I didn't wear it today and it did great. It's only after I put it on that it works for about 30-60 mins until dying. I'm a little worried about sending it back cause they may not be able to replicate the problem and just assume "problem solved" when they see it working, as opposed to having to wear it for a period of time to realize it's issues.
