MimiSars
I bought this watch over 5 years ago from Andrew. Within a couple of months the 12 o'clock marker fell off. In my infinite wisdom, I used the duct-tape method to open the case back. In the process of fixing the marker, the two pegs that hold the dial into the movement broke off. I was still able to put the watch back together. One day the dial moved due to the lack of the pegs. It wasn't until this week (years later) that I decided to open it answer readjust it. However, I also noticed that the movement wasn't running. I tried to shake it and then wind it but no go. The date and time adjustments work, just not the movement itself. When I wind it, I can see two gold gears, and two silver gears (one looks like a spoke and I see it tick something) moving. When I spin the rotor, I can see two other small gold gears (directly under the rotor) moving and one of the small silver gears that moved when I winded up well. Can anyone tell me what the problem may be? I now that since I didn't use a tool that dust might have got inside. I really hope it wasn't that. Thanks. MimiSars
EDIT: Actually upon inspection and matching with this thread at another forum: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=39771 It seems that this movement is actually Asian. If this is correct that means I won't be buying from TWG anytime soon... It's a good thing my other watches are Asian because I paid for less than half the price and they are still running great. repguy123
I have owned 2 rolexes based on the 2836 movts and my experience is that both watches have been complete nightmares. I have had just about every problem imaginable. I don't know if it is the factory it came from or what, but I am shying away from those movts. from now on. I am pretty sure I have doubled the cost of the very high end submariner I bought just in repairs and it still has issues.
