hard to tell with only one photo but hour markers look applied which favours gen.......they are embossed on the rep , which is an amazing piece that unfortunately is no longer available. Hopefully the Elders will be along shortly and shed more light on this.

 

I have scoured the M2M sections but Abyss models hardly come up so i am at the point where I am looking to go gen .......most likely the 42 since my wrists are small.

That is a gen. You see the circle dots between 60 and 15? The rep one had small rectangles. The rectangles are accurate to early gen realses while the circles are also accurate, but in later gen releases of the same watch. However, I've never seen a high quality rep version of this use the circle version as pictured, so I'd say it is gen.
