shultz
Hi, I am thinking about a purchase of an asian PR (PAM090 or another PR). I read in another thread (HERE) that the asian PR mvt. seems to be a "blatant rip-off" of the ETA 2892. Does that mean the DW is interchangable without problems? I am still liking these inexpensive asian PR PAMs but the date font is horrible. So what dio you think: Is a better DW available/ will the 2892 DW fit? r11co
I don't think anyone has reported trying it, so you won't know until you do. It may fit and it may not. Keep in mind though that blatant copy movements can and often do have subtle changes in the dimensions of some parts that may preclude swapping them with genuine items eg. the latest Asia 7750 clone can have its datewheel interchanged with one designed for the Valjoux equivalent, but the hands are not interchangeable. The other issue is it may be tricky to remove the power reserve module in order to gain access to the datewheel.
Watchmeister
The datewheel looks to me to be the same size as the other Asian 21j's as opposed to the ETA 2892. A group of folks have been working on an insert to correct the problem. The tricky part is that it is unclear whether there is enough room under the additional cyclops to fit it in.
