I have recently replaced several fiddy crystals and also one watch I returned to a customer arrived shattered. I can see that in some cases air transit might mean the watch is subjected to extreme low temperatures which may be the cause but some members I remember reporting that their watches were just on a table or in a drawer when it broke!
