IWC connoisseurs please chime in

Gents,

 

I am just starting my search for adding a IWC to my collection and looking for some input from the experts. A little about what I am seeking:

 

a) Formal watch that goes great with suits and comfortable on the wrist

Looking for an IWC model that was a good replication

 

 

I found this Tourbillon and Portuguese Chronograph (http://www.wristwatchspot.com/tag/portuguese/), but not sure if these can be sourced.

 

I would welcome any feedback and pictures that help me arrive at my 1st IWC. Thanks in advance for your help with this.

Go for a XVIII. A future classic, not essentially a dress watch, but it works with both suits and jeans. IWC has dropped the altimeter date and returned to a dial closer to the Mark XI:

Anyone seen these watches (MkXVIII rep)? They look pretty good but I haven't seen anyone do a direct comparison.

I'm also looking to make a move on the Mark XVIII black dial with bracelet. Has any IWC experts made any comparisons? From what I can tell, does this watch not have the potential to be a super rep?

I've had a close look and while the watch is an ok rep the bracelet is a mile out.

Long, long way from super rep.
