Rob1
Typically, for a watch like a SMP or the Navitimer, how long would you have to wear the watch in order to fully charge the power reserve (assuming the watch has stopped when you put it on your wrist, and therefore the power reserve is completely wound down)? Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I couldn't find the answer when using the search function.
linkukbora
I'd wear it at least 8 to 10 hrs
Highflyingclive
I have two Asians that have power reserve indicators. From empty, their indicators show a full wind after driving about 45 minutes - my daily commute to the office. No, I'm not a ferocious driver and half of my 20 mile commute is on motorway class roads. So it doesn't take a great deal of effort for an auto to achieve a full wind. This is why I never wind any automatic watch... I just give it a gentle side to side shake and strap it on.
Watchmeister
It depends on the movement and how much you move your wrist. No arm movement - no wind. I suspect you can charge it up in five minutes if you wear it during certain "alone" recreational periods.
KenMc
My experience with my Orient watches with power reserve dials shows that you can expect a full charge in about 3 hours of normal wear. I can't comment on Kruzers method, as the dial gets hard to read if your hand moves too fast, or in my case too far away.
Watchmeister
Now who says it is my method? By the way, Ken - too funny.
