bertieng
Just wondering if oxidized chrome plated seconds hands can be polished with Cape Cod to regain the shiny finish, or it will remove the plating completely leaving a dull look. Anyone tried?
carpetmonster
I believe that repolishing to previous state would be hard without professional equipment, and everything depends on the thickness of chrome layer. There is a huge risk to reach metal underneath chrome.
Dawagner
I have polished scratched hands and the coating slowly erodes to the base gold color the more you go. If the scratches are minimal sometimes you can remove them mostly with a nice result but often the hands will be less silver at the send with some of the base metal now exposed. It is a good method for getting a good vintage look on the hands.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
