bdjack7777 Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 I ran into this yesterday and wanted everyone’s thoughts. The case is supposed to be a 1960’s, as well as the Angelos Dial. The case is supposed to be made by Rolex and stamped on the inner caseback. The crown has a Rolex crown and says Brovet on it. The face is deteriorating and looks amazing. It has deep Gold stamped lettering. The movement is aftermarket for sure, but wonder about the rest. See pictures. Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkAlso, her is the movement. bdjack7777 Posted July 19, 2017 Author Report Posted July 19, 2017 I had 1 jeweler tell me they thought it was real, and one say they though fake, but only from the pictures. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It is 47mm as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Natas78 Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 Then I should have used a better movement in this build It's one of my creations, but the case had a bronze coating if I'm not mistaken. Did anyone try to sell you this one with a bogus story or something?@bdjack7777Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk Pro
bdjack7777 Posted July 19, 2017 Author Report Posted July 19, 2017 They said they got it in a trade years ago and didn’t know much about it, and basically shared the same details I shared above. When I opened it, I could see the movement was aftermarket, but the rest seemed legit. It took a lot of effort to get this look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Natas78 Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 Well I built this less than two years ago and sold it on RWI, where I'm most active, I think around 400 EUR or something. I do Panerai style builds but with a twist, like this. It's fun to see them turn up and with stories attached to them but lately one of my older builds was sold for way too much money by someone with bad intentions but don't know who.
bdjack7777 Posted July 19, 2017 Author Report Posted July 19, 2017 Well thanks for the enlightenment. I ended up taking a chance and traded an authentic 1984 Rolex Datejust in excellent condition. I paid $1500 for it and had an offer for $1900. I thought it was worth a chance. I will say, it is an amazingly beautiful piece. Put it on my wrist and fell in love with it. Natas78 Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 It is indeed a good looking piece, glad you are happy with it! Wear it in good health and fortune friend
bdjack7777 Posted July 19, 2017 Author Report Posted July 19, 2017 Let me know what else you have that is cool in a 44 or 45 size. This is a touch too big for me 5’9” and would love something else you do now that I’ve seen first hand the quality of your work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Natas78 Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 just updated my signature, there's a link you can click to follow my story and builds. I'm still updating it after photobucket did their extortion trick.
