spotsbimmer
My 45mm ETA PO is GREAT except for the pearl (surprise). On mine the glass cover over the pearl is not flush with the metal bezel, it sticks up a bit and one can easily feel the sharp edge of the glass cover. It looks like the glass is epoxied in place. Has anyone had any success removing the pearl's glass cover intact and re-cementing it flush? I've seen the post about how to make your own pearl on a lathe from a stainless screw. I'll have to pass on that since I don't have a lathe. By the way, the easiest way to pop off the bezel off a PO is not to use a $345 Bergen bezel remover, but rather find a plastic spatula from the kitchen -- fit it between the bezel's knurling and one of the lugs and it'll pop right off. Go easy once it releases so you don't end up warping the bezel. Works great and no worries about scratching the case or bezel.

I have exactly the same problem with my pearl to the extent that it arrived with the glass cracked Some dealer pics show the pearl with the glass missing!!! I've just decided to go with the option of replacing the whole insert.
