She/he's looking for something with a metal band and face. They have several watches controlled by DCF. The Apollo Alarm comes with either metal wristband or leather.... it's not a bad tool watch... I forgot to mention the one key criteria... Under $200... chubbchubb Posted February 1, 2007 Report Share Posted February 1, 2007 with leather strap.... but, yes... you're right - this one is more expensive and there is another important issue to keep in mind: if your stateside, you need to buy a watch in the states (one that is designed to receive the US DCF signal from Fort Collins in Colorado). Usually, these watches are not all capable of receiving various signals around the world and if you take it beyond that signals range, it will just function as a standard quartz watch until back within range. I once bought a casio DCF in LA and took it to Europe, only to find out that it had no reception..... Germany DCF77 on frequency 77,5 kHz UK / MSF on frequency 66 kHz US / WWVB 60 kHz Japan / JJY 40 kHz and 60 kHz there is another nice one from Citizen.... (never mind the color...they also come with black dial) not sure though if available in US and if functional (see above) .... out of price range too Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
