Steve G
Ok bare with me on this.... I've had my 42mm PO for almost a year, lately when i unscrew the crown to set the date/time the (for lack of a better term) "action" of the crown feels stiff. Not grinding, just not smooth anymore. The watch still works fine, i can set date and time and of course wind it, it keeps accurate time. But the whole crown thing is concerning me. It almost feels like if i shoot some WD-40 on it that would improve it. (Of course I wouldn't think of really trying that). Anyone every experience this, or is this just the one of flaws of owning reps. Not this in particular but in general. Strange thing is that I dont ever remember it feeling this off, it was never as smooth as some of my other ETA movements, but just seem to have gotten worse. I opened the case back to peek, but was too afraid to go pulling out the crown stem, as I've messed up some 21 jewel watches in the past poking around. Suggestions???? Jetsons
Have you tried cleaning the threads and applying a thin film of silicone grease? Also, screw the crown backwards first until you feel the threads click before tightening.......saves the threads from stripping prematurely.
