Bodo
Some notes on the case copy, I hope I don´t kick you off the cloud. The problem with the Rep/gen housing depends on the movement beeing used. The crown shaft is located at a different place on Rolex to ETA movements. If you put an ETA in, you have either to move down with the crown hole from the dial surface or you have to reduce the rehaut. You simply can´t put an ETA in and get the correct crown position AND a correct rehaut. Before you invest a bunch of money to rebuild something copied think of what you´ll get. Why copy an MBW copy of a 1680 if it alreday exists? Buy an MBW and wear it. Before you start try to get a Rolex and an ETA movement and compare them. If you find a way to get the ETA in at the same position without any compromise it will pay off. Just my 2 cents

NAAAAHHH! Why not start at the "PROBLEM" with this whole project... Contact some of these chinese movement copiers, and have them finally do a rep of a rlx movement! - that would fix your stem issue! - also allows the gen-cased franken watches to be easily constructed! and with a movement, you will start to see that good ol' deep rehaut that we [censored] so much about... hell, might even see some CH models be able to use gen crystals and bezels?!?! manuel
I have seen a franken submariner (from member BASE I think) I dont know about gmt cases, but submariner cases (16610) may have the same issue concerning crown-stem position, rehaut deepness... But according to his pictures, he achieved a nice result. I think it may depend on the spacer ring at all. We have pushed our dealers to bring us a perfect 1:1 replica submariner, 1:1 replica gmt... But no luck at all. We all know that submariner and gmt replicas are their bestsellers...So why would they bother to make the ultimate-definitive version? That would allow us to stop buying and buying again the same watch... Bad business for dealers then... I think that the ultimate-definitive version will be brought by some specialized-hardcore member, and not by a dealer. And whoever will be, he will get congratulations from us.
