scoobs1971
Hi all, I'm thinking of buying this watch. However, the product description says "softly curved plexiglass". I'm very clumpsy with wearing watches. Mineral glass will be scratched in a few days. So how strong is plexiglass? If I'm not mistaken even the Tag Heuer Monaco and the Moonwatch have plexiglass, so I hope that means it's stronger than mineral glass..
Jetsons
Plexi crystals collect scratches if you're tough on a watch but they can also be easily polished and replaced if need be. I have a few watches with the plaxi and its really not an issue. On the positive, they give the watch a warm vintage appearance that cannot be replicated with sapphire or a flat top mineral crystal. The plexi will not shatter and scratches are easy to remove. Rolex used them in the diver watches for many years as did others. That's a great looking watch! For a minute, I thought it was a discontinued Heuer Carrera re-editioin that are highly sought after, which also have the plexi crystal.
Sweattdogg
I've got a gen Tag Monaco and I love the plexi-crystal. If you scratch it, just a dab of Brasso and an old t-shirt will make the crystal look like new.
