Yaakov Asher Sinclair Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Has anyone tried putting a Swiss Valjoux 7750 into an IWC Portuguese? Even the New Asia version is pretty spotty, so I wondered if anyone tried this route?
yellomen Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 it's of no use... but it should be possible. The asian valjoux (new version) is quite good actually... the bad thing in this watch is the module which is incredibly crappy!
PAMman Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 I had considered this but yellomen is correct - it's not the Asian 7750 which is the problem, it is the useless module which transfers the running secs to 6. I had The Zigmeister remove the module from mine, service the A7750 and now it doesn't have any running secs but works perfectly. I just leave the chrono running all the time and I now have a watch which runs and tells the time. The other problem with replacing the A7750 with a Swiss movement is the difference in hands sizes between the two which simply complicates the whole procedure.
